PROPHETIC WORDS
SPIRIT TANK
by Brian Mitchell
The fellowship I attend, has over the last number of months, been running prophetic training nights, and after the download of the following vision I thought that it applied only to the students attending the training. But then I got a part two of the vision, which opens it to a greater audience.
(Part 1) “I saw a large flat plain and the people attending the training were like tanks of water. Each one had different levels of water and freshness. The water tanks had taps in the side and each one had times to draw from the water in them and offer to others (Prophetic activation). I then saw some of the people as water tanks digging into the ground, looking for fresh water. And some starting to find water, but like the first flow of new water from the ground, it was not clear water. I then saw that right next to each of the tanks was a huge capped water pipe, running deep into the ground; it was an old deep well, dug long ago, dug by Jesus. Everyone was being offered a choice – you can keep on digging your own well, or you can spend the same time building/linking into the huge pipe right beside you, then starting to open the tap. Those that choose option number 2 will find themselves hooked up to the freshest purest water that they could imagine.”
(Part 2) “In building a connection to the pipe/old well I saw some people using a pipe the size of a garden hose, but while this did allow water from the pipe/well to flow to the tank, the flow was limited by the size of the hose; it would take some time to fill the tank and they would also have to be careful in giving out. Not content with this, some then chose to increase the size of the pipe to water mains size. As they did, not only did the in-flow rate increase, but also the size of the them as a water tank increased.”
The best way to illustrate some of the parts of the above vision is to relate it back to my personal spiritual walk. Even though I grew up attending church with my parents, it was not till my early teen years that I started my own personal journey with God by accepting Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour. Over the next number of decades I followed a path familiar to many. I learned to read and study the Bible, attended home groups, served in the church, led youth group, even going to a Bible College and becoming a minister for a number of years. All good things! (I learned how to dig a well and work on filling my spirit tank.) But even though I enjoyed learning and knowing about Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and even experienced the refreshing times of the Spirit in the 1980’s, a large part of all this was based on my effort, my motivation and my service. Then in 2013, following a crisis, I attend a ministry week in Taupo where I had the experience of learning to forgive my earthly father from my heart for the hurts he had caused. In doing so, a floodgate of spirit relationship was opened with Father God (Papa), and I discovered the richness of a heart to heart, intimate, love relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Built a connection to the old well/pipe.) Since then I have invested time in building and enlarging this connection and ongoing heart/love experience, and learning how to open the tap (heart) more, to keep the tap open to that love relationship and Spirit life source. It is from that heart love relationship place that I find the real richness of ongoing Spirit life flowing, and in the process I found that I was growing as a beloved child of God, starting to live in a relationship that years of effort had not fully opened to me. And yes, I am finding that this love relationship with Father God has still more connection to grow in.
Eph 3:16-20 (Passion Trans) 16 And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favour until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. 17 Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life. 18–19 Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! 20 Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.
