Alexander John Dowie and the NOW healing move

The Lord Spoke this word to me in March 2020 on the eve of the first lockdown. However, the Lord showed me recently it is more relevant to New Zealand now and for 2022, due to the fact that Delta will be in our midst and the policy of the government has changed from eradication to containment.

I was preparing for a revival meeting in Waihi and I felt like the Lord said to me, “There is a great healing move coming to the earth.” As soon as I heard those words I suddenly saw the name in my mind: ‘Alexander John Dowie’. I knew who he was. Alexander was a revivalist that pioneered the healing movement in the 1880s and the 1890s before there was Asuza street, before there was John G Lake, before there were the healing revivals of the 1940’s and 1950’s, but he ended up deceived and fell away later in his life.

I wondered why God brought that man to my mind because I'd studied him in revival history, but not for a long time. I ran upstairs where I was staying and I got my ‘God's Generals’ book out and I began to read up on Alexander John Dowie. And as I began to read, I realised something that is relevant to us today! John Alexander Dowie was pastoring a small church in Sydney, Australia in 1875. And as he was pastoring there was a flu Epidemic that hit Sydney. Loved ones were dying, children were dying. In a couple of weeks Alexander had buried 40 people from his own congregation! In desperation he cried out to God. He said something like, God, I know you're the Healer, but where are you? And instead of shrinking back in this crisis, he pressed in! And God gave him a revelation of Acts 10:38. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and Power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.”

Suddenly the Scripture was not just Logos on the page, but it was Rhema to his spirit. Suddenly faith arose in his heart for the impossibilities of God. At that moment there was a knock on his door. He opened the door and a lady came in and said, “Mary is dying. She's got the flu.” Alexander raced round to this lady's house and there was her daughter lying there, dying with this flu epidemic. He got so mad at the devil that he went over to Mary and said, “In the Name of Jesus!” He cried out to God and all of a sudden Mary fell down flat, and the mum thought she was dead. But Alexandra said, “No, she's alive.” Suddenly Mary woke and said, “Oh, I think I've been sleeping too long.” She was completely healed! After that day, not one person in Alexandra John Dowie’s church died from the flu! And he became the father of the healing movement!

A week after writing this prophesy down I talked to a pastor from Motueka on the phone and he said, “Joseph, I have had Ratana on my heart for the last few days… Did you know that Ratana received his vision and gift of healing during the Spanish Flu of 1918.” Suddenly the light bulb went on and I knew that Ratana was the final piece of this prophesy. Ratana receiving the gift of healing during the Spanish flu pandemic connects Aotearoa to this prophecy in a unique way, because GOD WANTS TO DO IT AGAIN! He wants to release the gifts of healing and miracles to the people of New Zealand in this Covid Pandemic, and there is a precedent in the history of Aotearoa for this!

The Spirit of God is saying that in the midst of this virus breaking out in the world, He is getting to raise up that healing anointing once again! But this time He is going to multiply the anointing from Acts 10:38 on the hearts of all the children of God … no longer is it going to be one person that carries it, or the famous Evangelist only, but it is gonna be the Body of Christ, His sons and daughters that all carry it. The people of God will be raised up! Woman and children will move in the Spirit and sweep this healing anointing across the world! If we have ears to hear, it can start in New Zealand!

The Lord continued to unpack the vision during the worship time. He said, “Son, out of Great Crisis is going to come Great Faith.” The devil can’t outdo God. God always has the upper hand. This virus did not surprise Jesus. If a pandemic is sweeping the world, God is going to raise up a healing-demic! Suddenly in a vision, I saw the Egyptians chasing the Israelites. And He showed me the Israelites coming to the Red Sea. And He showed me the red sea on one side as this big obstacle. And on the other side the bloodthirsty Egyptian army bearing down on them. And He said to me, “Do you see that crisis, Joe? Out of that great crisis came great faith”! Because you know what happened? Moses happened. Moses got up with his staff in his hand and he called on the name of the Lord. And the Lord said, Moses, what is that in your hand? And Moses lifted up his staff. And when he lifted up his staff, the Bible says a wind came in (Exodus 14). Who's the wind? The Holy Spirit! And the Holy Spirit blew the Red Sea back. And Israel walked through on dry land. And the Lord says, “The same power that swept back the Red Sea is in the earth today. God wants to raise up a company of Deliverers in our day!” I believe God is looking for Deliverers in this hour, people who will stand like Alexandra John Dowie and Moses and Ratana and stir themselves up to lay hold of God. He is looking for normal men and women that walk with a paranormal God. He is looking for those who will carry Great Faith in this time of Great Crisis.

If you study church history, you will read that there have been plagues and pandemics all the way through the history of the church, and in every case the church saw revival, multiplication and growth. There were plagues in the days of Spurgeon, Martin Luther and Dowie and Ratana. The Spanish flu came at a time when the fires of Azusa street were igniting the globe. Out of the church’s service to the sick came our modern-day hospitals; the outworking of the gift of mercy and hospitality according to Romans 12. The church has always been on the coalface of sickness, bringing the hope and healing power of Jesus Christ to the masses. The danger in this hour, as I see it, is due to the separation, division and containment of the role of the church today, this could be the first pandemic not followed by a revival. If we remain isolated and buy into the fear-driven media narrative, and the divisive tactics of the enemy, we could miss the will of God for this hour. But I believe the Lord is raising up His worshipping warriors to wreak havoc on the plans of the enemy once again, and the Word of the Lord will come to pass in the Body of Christ … now, in 2022 and beyond: Out of Great Crisis will come Great Faith!
