PROPHETIC WORDS
LOVE IS THE CIRCUIT BREAKER
by Rachel McQueen
February 2021
In 2021, love is the circuit-breaker!
Everything that can be shaken has been shaken, so that what cannot be shaken will remain. So, what remains?
Nā, tēnei te mau nei te whakapono, te tūmanako, te aroha, ēnei e toru; ko te mea nui rawa ia o ēnei ko te aroha.
Now these three remain: faith, hope and love – but the greatest of these is LOVE. (1 Cor 13:13.)
Against all odds, love remains standing after all the shaking and becomes the foundation of the new.
A time of widespread signs and wonders will be heralded by the greatest sign and wonder – the exceptional love of the Father as He restores and raises up His children to release His kingdom. God’s kindness truly will lead us to the cross and to repentance – a change of mindset in every area of our lives.
Not only will the Father’s extraordinary love be seen in our lives, Holy Spirit will empower us to love one another in extraordinary ways. There will be extreme forgiveness – so much so that some long-standing breaches of relationship will be healed, and the most difficult of relationships will now be super-charged with love to extend God’s Kingdom in Aotearoa and beyond.
In 2020 the enemy threw everything he could at us to muddy the waters of our life purpose. As with Gideon in Judges 6, the enemy’s intention was to leave us ‘hiding in a hole’, full of dread, doubt, disappointment, discouragement, disconnection and a sense of being disqualified from our purpose. But Father God has heard our cry and, this year, He gets to excel in encouragement! No matter how dark the hole we find ourselves in, He comes to renew, expand and clarify the call on our life – the purpose for which we were born. With great kindness, He takes us by the hand and, step by step, leads us back to a place of confidence in His invincible love and in our true identity.
In Gideon’s case, Father God tailor-made the kind of encouragement where all Gideon could do was worship – the kind of encouragement which changed everything, transforming Gideon from a defeated man to a victorious man who brought freedom to others.
“The Lord said to Gideon, ‘Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, and you shall hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.’ Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. Now the Midianites and Amalekites…were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts… And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, ‘I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.’ Then his companion answered and said, ‘This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.’ And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.” (Judges 7: 9-15.)
And so, in 2021 Father God will tailor-make encouragement for you which will strengthen your hands, and you will worship, rise up and be positioned to bring long-awaited freedom to others by the power of the Spirit.
In order to release His extreme encouragement He also comes to sharpen the ears and raise up the voices of His encouragers in every sphere of life. Rich blessings on the encouragers! You are much needed right now!
I leave you with a beautiful picture. Just before Christmas a young lady in our church had a dream in which I was painting a Christmas cracker. On one end of the split-open cracker was the word NEW, on the other end was the word OLD. As she told me the dream I was more and more awestruck, because five years ago I drew that picture…
Just as with a Christmas cracker pulled two ways, there has been great tension in our lives between the old and the new. The old has been desperately trying to cling on, but this year the divide is made by the amazing love of God, bringing us to a place where we fully trust and allow our God to bring in the NEW on every level, no matter how that looks.
