PROPHETIC WORDS
IT’S BREAKTHROUGH TIME
by Jill Smith
November 2023.
Don’t wrestle, rise; decree a matter and it shall be established; speak to mountains of spiritual opposition and they will move.
As we entered October the Lord said, “This is a month of breakthrough” and that it would continue through November and December with stuck situations getting unstuck, delays being broken, and obstacles moved out of the way. All this in preparation for us to enter through God’s open doors of harvest, increase, release, and flow, in a much greater way in 2024 and beyond.
At the beginning of 2022 the Lord told me it was a time to stretch, enlarge and increase with faith and confidence, not a time to draw back in timidity and fear, or to decrease through unbelief or intimidation. He also said that HE would bring the increase, but that WE would need to wage a good warfare to partner with Him to enter and properly steward the ‘more’. When God gives a promise, the Word brings faith and grace – in part, to equip us to tackle the challenges that come along with the opportunities. Rising to these challenges, overcoming the warfare at the gates, in turn equips us to steward the increase and inhabit the land. I have realised that the word wasn’t just for 2022, but also for 2023 and moving forward, so more opportunities and challenges have continued to appear. I have needed to remember and realign myself with God’s encouragement and invitation many times in the last two years. But God is leading us through challenge into more, offering us opportunities to increase our capacity to carry greater responsibility. He is preparing us for what’s ahead.
A key invitation through this time is to rely on the Lord and not our own wisdom or strength. To learn to partner with the supernatural abilities and power of Holy Spirit, and flow with grace and revelation, trusting His subtle nudges and promptings, stepping out in faith on His word. Recently I was frustrated one afternoon, aware of some heavy weather in the spiritual realm that I’d been doggedly wading through all day. I groaned to the Lord under my breath and muttered, “Oh man! I am so sick of this!” Immediately I heard the response, “Don’t wrestle, rise.” With that, there was an immediate lift, and I sensed the uplift of Holy Spirit within me, beneath me, and all around me. I was ‘rising on eagle’s wings’ above earth’s atmosphere into clear air – and that promise from Isaiah 40:31 flooded me with renewed hope and strength. So good. Then two thoughts came to mind one after the other, “You shall decree a matter and it shall be established” (Job 22:28), and, “Speak to the mountain and it will move” (Mark 11:22). I not only felt better, but I also received a timely strategy I needed to activate during this breakthrough season: rely on the Holy Spirit’s grace and uplift, don’t wrestle, rise, AND speak God’s word to the mountains of spiritual opposition in our way, decree His breakthrough solutions. As I’ve followed through, I have seen several sudden breakthroughs one after the other, with some frustrating delays finally yielding and long-awaited results suddenly coming through.
So I’m praying you’ll be encouraged, that you won’t lose heart or become weary in well-doing now. It’s breakthrough time. Don’t wrestle, rise. Let the Spirit lift and shift you, rise on eagle’s wings, AND speak the mountains, decree the words gives you with faith, and partner with the breakthrough of heaven.
