INJUSTICES ARE BEING PUT RIGHT

Recently in church I heard the Lord say, "It's time for injustices to be put right." He said that He was working to set injustices right in people’s lives, and that as part of that He was calling those who have been treated unjustly to see the situation with new eyes – to see what He wants to do in the situation, not just what the people who have been unjust would like to see happen. As we do this it will release something into the situation that is powerful and life-changing – for us and for them. 

The Lord went on to give me understanding that His justice doesn't look like what we currently think justice is – the bad guys getting caught and paying for what they've done. God's justice is greater, it's fully redemptive, it's restorative (and that's not just the bad guys restoring what they took). It's about whole-being restoration for both parties; it goes beyond setting a situation right to setting the people right, making them righteous.

In Scripture God's justice is very closely linked with righteousness. Psa 89:14 says, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.” Other scriptures also link these two things (Psa 97:2; 99:4).

Part of God's purpose for justice is to restore people to righteousness – being righteous in all things, including relationships. God's justice for us as sinners went way beyond anything we could have dreamed up. He took upon Himself the injustices of mankind, forgave us, cleansed us, and restored us to righteousness, giving us a brand new life and bringing us into a relationship with Himself that was as if we had never sinned against Him.

That's His plan for dealing with the injustices done against you to – to restore you, and also those who have been unjust to you, to a state of righteousness and cleanness – a state of being that restores so fully that it is as if nothing had ever happened.

Are you willing to let go of your judgments against those who have treated you unjustly? God wants to set you free from the trap that injustice has sprung against you that keeps you locked into a place of walking in partial justice – the bad guy paying, but neither of you being fully free. He wants to bring you into a place of full justice, where you, and they, are free to live fully free, restored, righteous lives.
