HOLD ON TO HOPE

Recently as I was getting ready for church I saw a vision of hundreds and hundreds of Christians, looking around them at the circumstances and trying to stand in the midst of the fierce shaking that was taking place. They looked shell-shocked, confused and, as a result, were on-guard and protective of themselves. They had grown tired and had also become wary of others. They weren’t sure who to trust anymore, as so many different voices clamoured at them from both the natural and the spiritual realm.

Then I saw Heaven open and the light of Heaven shine down on them, splitting into rays of light that settled on each one, bathing them in divine light and warmth. As this happened a voice spoke out of Heaven saying, “Stand fast, hold on to hope.”

Immediately it was as though hope began to flood into the hearts of those I saw in the vision, and as it did, people altered their stance, shifting their legs so that their feet were planted solidly. As they did they began to move and sway in the midst of the shaking, like a tree moving in the wind, yet staying solidly rooted in the earth, not uprooted or tossed around.

As the vision continued I saw those same people with their hands outstretched in front of them as if to receive, and to each person a gift was given… a gift labelled Hope.  

I heard internally the voice of the Lord saying, “My hope is not some fleeting momentary feeling. It is a spiritual substance. Within My Hope is a strengthening and a view of the future that will give you the ability to stand. Stand strong! Be deliberate in accepting my gift of Hope. Take a firm hold of it, unwrap it, look deep into it, and as you do it will be transferred from your hands deep into your heart and become established there. In this Hope are all the words of promise I have spoken to you, both through Scripture and personally. It is full of the good things I have done in your past and the promise of the good I will do now and in your future. These words, this hope, will hold you fast in the days to come, in future shakings. The work you allow the Holy Spirit to do in this time is a work that will serve you well and establish you for the years to come, so that no matter what life throws at you, you will be able to stand, because you live from Hope, which has been planted and established in you by the presence of Christ Himself.”

This vision reminded me of these scriptures…

Jer 17:8 “They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Psa 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.”

Many people have not ever had their faith and trust tested to the degree it has been tested these past few years, and God is taking what the devil meant for evil and turning it to do a deep and lasting work in His people. He is strengthening their faith, deepening their trust, and giving them a more solid foundation. God is speaking hope and strength into the hearts of His children in this hour. He is calling us to a fresh place of trust in His heart and nature. He is taking us into deeper revelation and understanding of His goodness in all circumstances.

May I speak personally to you in this moment – Jesus will never leave you or forsake you. He is your strong refuge in times of need. He is your defender, provider, sustenance and hope. As you put your hope and trust in Him He will establish you so that you cannot be greatly shaken. Psa 62:2 says “He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.” Turn afresh to Him, and continue to build your life on the hope that is Christ Himself, and you will be like a house firmly built on a solid foundation – the rock, Christ Jesus (Matt 7:24 – 27).

Prophetic Activation based on the above

Can I encourage you to take a moment now and quieten yourself. Ask the Lord to activate your internal vision centre. See yourself standing, feet firmly planted, hands outstretched. See the Lord place the gift of Hope in your hands, and as you unwrap it and gaze deeply into it, allow Him to infuse you with fresh hope. Receive it, embrace it let it fill you!

PRAYER POINTS

Prayer is not just us coming to God with a list of requests. As part of our relationship with Him, it is us having a conversation with the Lord, which involves talking and listening on both sides. The following prayer points are some things you can talk to Him about in regards to this prophetic word.

Personal

If you are feeling confused and like you are a bit shell-shocked with the battle raging around you, can I encourage you to spend some time in prayer. Often in a situation like this the enemy whispers lies or accusations to us, which we inadvertently come to believe.  These lies are often at the base of the fear and confusion we feel. Ask the Lord to reveal any lies the enemy has told you about God, or about yourself, that have allowed fear and confusion to take root in your heart and mind. If the Lord reveals something to you, pray through it and break off any agreement with the lie or accusation. Ask for a fresh infusion of peace, and can I encourage you also, to do the activation above and allow the Lord to minister fresh hope to you.

Prayer for others

• Pray for those who are feeling confused and unsure of what, and who, to trust during this time. Pray that they will receive fresh revelation of the Lord’s trustworthiness and faithfulness.

• People are weary – pray for a fresh infilling of peace, strength and resilience. These are all things that the Lord is wanting to develop in us to a greater degree.

• Pray that people will turn to the Lord and receive the hope He wants to give them. Pray for that hope to become firmly established in people’s lives.

• Pray for understanding to come to people that the fight is both spiritual and natural, not just one or the other, and it cannot be fought just on one of these levels. It is a fight against powers of darkness, but also against a virus, so it must be fought on two fronts simultaneously.
