PROPHETIC WORDS

GET READY TO ROLL WITH FREEDOM

by Jill Smith

December 2021

I was reminded this week that throughout 2018 and into 2019 I had recurring dreams and visions of tornadoes. When I asked the Lord about it at the time, I was reassured that although strong winds were going to blow and dismantle many structures, this would clear the way for new freedom, more of heaven on earth. I felt the Lord remind me to say, we’re in this now, but don’t focus on the storm, look towards the new freedom and new ways that the Lord is releasing. Be comforted by the Lord, rather than longing for the comfort of familiar things, and trust, rather than anxiously trying to hold together what needs to end.

God is so near, He is brooding over us like a mother hen, wanting to draw us under the shadow of His wing, to comfort, protect, and heal us. I love that imagery from Psalms 91 and feel God’s love and compassion towards those who feel stretched, strung out, and even at the end of their tether. The Lord is leaning in like a comforting Mum or Dad saying kindly, “There, there, I’ve got you. I’ve got it. Rest in Me and let Me take care of everything that’s too big and too hard for you. Snuggle into Me. Trust Me.”

Over the last two years winds of adversity have blown around the globe and tested beliefs, priorities, relationships, ideologies, values, ‘right’ ways of doing things, and more. These are the winds of change, like tornadoes, picking up and blowing familiar things away, altering the landscape in a radical way. Fear, insecurity, and serious discombobulation is a normal response in crazy storms, but the Lord is our refuge from the storm; run into Him and be safe – now, this week, this month. Psalm 46 is a word for this season. The month of December is a season for drawing in close to Him, really resting, trusting, and receiving comfort and healing from the Lord. Turn towards Him, receive His loving and powerful ministry for what ails you, let Him calm your fears and settle your soul. Right now, we need to remember that God is God, we are not! We don’t need to know all the details, or have all the answers, just know that He knows, and He will be exalted in the nations while we trust and rest in Him (Psalm 46:10).

This week I’ve also been reminded of an encounter I had about 3 years ago, and it seems like the Lord is saying, get ready, it’s now. In the encounter I was lifted high above Aotearoa, right beside the Lord. I sensed His focussed attention upon our land, His great love, and His faithfulness to fulfill His very good plans for us as a nation. It was so comforting and encouraging. Then, I saw the Lord place His foot down on the mountain spine that runs up through the land, and He said, “I am breaking the back of the spirit of control and bringing deliverance from the tyranny of technique.” In the moment I knew without a shadow of a doubt that God was going to act powerfully to break the control of principalities that have been pulling strings for a long time. Strong winds have been dismantling ‘structures’ in our hearts, minds, communities, and the spiritual realm over our nation, and listen, there is no room for finger pointing here. God is good and we all need freedom from some tyrannical beliefs, religious habits, and spirits that have had control. As we move into 2022 we need to be refreshed and ready to roll with freedom, so, in December, respond to God’s drawing, lean in close and expect His loving supernatural ministry to bring refreshing, new perspectives, deliverance and fresh hope for tomorrow that will get you ready to roll with freedom.

PRAYER POINTS

Prayer is not just us coming to God with a list of requests. As part of our relationship with Him, it is us having a conversation with the Lord, which involves talking and listening on both sides. The following prayer points are some things you can talk to Him about in regards to this prophetic word.

  • Pray for the peace that passes understanding to reign in the church at this time.  Phil 4:6,7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

  • Ask the Lord for a revelation of His covering and protection for yourself personally and for the church in general, especially in this season of trial. Use the imagery in Psa 91 as a prayer prompt.

  • Ask for a revelation of God as your refuge and strength, using Psa 46 as a prayer prompt.

  • Pray that the Lord would break the back of the spirit of control that has created ungodly power structures. Pray that they would be dismantled in in our hearts, minds, communities, churches, and in the spiritual realm over our nation.

  • Pray that the Lord would have His way in our nation, in our communities, churches, families and individual lives.

  • Pray for refreshing, new perspectives, deliverance and fresh hope for tomorrow that will get you ready to roll with freedom into the new year.
