PROPHETIC WORDS

FIVE STRATEGIC ISSUES FOR 2025

by Nathan Shaw

March 2025

This prophetic word was given by video link at the NZ Council of Prophets gathering and Behold Conference in Christchurch, March 2025.

1. Evangelism and Harvest

There is coming a new emphasis on origins, identity and integration with Christ’s body. Gen 2:7 describes how God formed Adam from the dust of the earth and then breathed him into existence. This is a prophetic prototype of how every human is created. Here’s the important question: Are we God-breathed, or are we sinners? Adam and Eve were God-breathed before they were sinners.

There are two strategic messages: Identity and Sin. The Bible doesn’t compromise on either message. We need to put the two together: We are God-breathed and the government of sin has deceived us. If you know you are God-breathed, sin is more clearly recognized as the imposter that it is.

We are familiar with the concept of the conviction of sin. However, the conviction of sin is one level; anger toward sin is another. We become angry toward sin when we realize it has deceived us about who we are and why we exist.

We have had an appropriate emphasis on salvation, healing and deliverance. However, ultimately, evangelism and harvest are about integration into a functioning body. And when the body functions, Jesus manifests on the earth

2. Three “A”s: Action, Authority, Awakening

In the wilderness Israel waited until the cloud moved;
In Canaan they positioned themselves for action.

In the wilderness they gathered manna for personal sustenance;
In Canaan they gathered as an army for corporate breakthrough.

Everyone needs to know their position on the battle front and the action plan that goes with that position. As Pastor Norm McLeod says, “Less hui and more doey.”

Action works together with authority and awakening. David makes it clear that we have authority to awaken a new day. “Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn” (Psa 57:8). Awakening describes the Christian journey. Being Born Again is an awakening. Every day we walk with God we become more awake. We are suppose to step into eternity more awake than at any other moment in our lives. The old mindset says, “Let’s wait for people to wake up” or “Let’s wait for revival.” The new mindset says, “Let’s call forth awakening in the saved, the unsaved, and the whole of creation.”

3. Watch What You Are Saying

Be careful of the assignments of judgement and anger that are raging in the body of Christ at the moment – the anger of man does not bring about the righteousness of God. “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires” (James 1:19-20). Don’t confuse anger and righteousness. Anger makes you feel righteous. When you feel angry, be careful! We are empowered to be a voice, but we are also empowered for restraint. The muzzle is as important as the trumpet. Many are being tested in this area right now.

4. Call Forth Strong Political Leadership Over The Nation

Why is this important? There are several issues.

Firstly, the declining moral fabric. There is an assignment of intimidation that keeps leaders from speaking about anything that is controversial. This assignment of intimidation is seriously affecting the moral fabric of the nation and aligning us more and more with the demonic forces dominating Europe.

A further issue is geo-political intimidation. When we have Chinese war-ships in the Tasman sea and the Cook Islands signing agreements with China we need strong political leadership.

And finally, an anti-American bias. There is a subtle and blatant anti-American bias that has even infiltrated the church. This is a bias empowered by demonic forces that are operating with the intention of preventing strategic relationship. In November 2016 God spoke to me unexpectedly: “ANZUS will live again.” ANZUS is a defence treaty between Australia, New Zealand and the United States which was signed in 1951.

5. The Treaty of Waitangi is Still Singing

Don’t be distracted by the contentious spirit that has been stirred up around the Treaty of Waitangi. Political spirits cause people to take sides for or against an issue and thus feed contention. Don’t get caught up in the contention. Listen for the sound of the Treaty. The Treaty has never stopped singing.

Decrees

  1. We decree that it’s harvest time. Harvest and evangelism are going to new levels. The message of the gospel is being proclaimed in a way that awakens humanity to their origins and identity, and exposes sin as the great imposter that it is. The preaching of the gospel will bring salvation, healing, deliverance and integration into Christ’s mystical body. We declare a greater manifestation of Jesus through His functioning body.

  2. We are awakened to awaken. We decree that it’s time for action, authority and awakening. Each born again believer has a placement within the body, a plan of action to carry out, and an authority to call forth a new day. We call forth awakening in the saved, the unsaved, and the whole of creation.

  3. We declare that God has empowered us to have a voice, and He has empowered us for restraint. We determine that we will speak when He empowers us to speak, and we will remain silent when He empowers us for restraint. We say “Yes” to the trumpet, and we say “Yes” to the muzzle.

  4. We call forth strong political leadership in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We declare a reversal of the moral decline, the geo-political intimidation, and the anti-American bias. We declare correct alignment with the nations so that New Zealand walks in the fullness of her God-ordained destiny. Give our leaders boldness to confront every assignment of intimidation that is trying to control, distract, dominate, indoctrinate and manipulate.

  5. We boldly declare that the Treaty of Waitangi has never stopped singing. The sound of the Treaty over and in our nation will be heard with greater and greater clarity. This sound will drown out the clamour caused by political spirits and divisive contention. The authority of covenant and the glory of the New Covenant will resonate in every corner Aotearoa, New Zealand.
