DREAM, PIONEER EDUCATORS, DREAM!

I believe that the Lord is saying it is time for the radical pioneers called to the field of education to dream new dreams and initiate new ways of training teachers, new ways of teaching, and new curriculums.

It's time to write fresh curriculums centred around what children need, and what will best help society in the years ahead, not just what industry and government alone need children to become. (The modern school system was created to be run as a factory-like institution. It was a system designed to shape children to think in certain ways, to learn in certain ways, to largely suppress their curiosity and creativity so that they fit into an increasingly industrialised world in a way that didn't rock the boat and that benefitted industrial progress.  That was never God’s intention for education and schooling, and it’s time for that to change.)

It’s time to dream of, and create, syllabus’s and places where our children learn holistically, that promote and encourage them becoming who they were each created to be, rather than what the industrial giants and society need them to be for a consumer-based society and self-centred, greed-based purposes.

We need places where they learn by experimenting, allowing natural curiosity and creativity to flourish, and where they are developed in their unique expression and gifts so that their innate creativity and genius is not lost, but nurtured and encouraged. Children need places where their gifts are developed so they can use them for the good of mankind and the planet we live on; where they learn not just basics like reading and writing, maths etc., but where they flourish, grow, and discover their gifts, talents and abilities, in order to become wise world shapers.

Some small scale endeavours have happened in the past, small privately run schools, home schooling, the unschooling movement etc. and while this has been good and benefitted a few, it is not enough. The main public school curriculums need radical re-envisaging and re-shaping.

Now is the time for those called to re-shape education to rise up, to dream dreams of what could be. It’s time to research, to recognise what works and what doesn’t. It’s time to ask God for both ideas, and for the strategies for implementation. It’s time to write the new curriculums.

It’s also time to pray for ‘Daniels’ who can operate within current governmental structures, introduce new ideas, yet maintain integrity, godliness and bring much needed change. It’s time to pray now, for the right connections, the right ears to hear, and hearts to be open within the education system, so that new and better ways of doing things can be introduced and gain traction – ways that will benefit both children and society.

It’s time to dream, pioneer educators. Dream!

A personal note – I am thankful for the teachers I had growing up, who did their best to teach us and love us at the same time, and I know many of you are, also.  They worked with a genuine heart to see children learn and grow, but in many ways they were hamstrung and bound by the system they worked in. Thank you to all those teachers.

PRAYER POINTS

Prayer is not just us coming to God with a list of requests. As part of our relationship with Him, it is us having a conversation with the Lord, which involves talking and listening on both sides. The following prayer points are some things you can talk to Him about in regards to this prophetic word.

• Ask the Lord to raise up radical pioneer educators who can dream and formulate new curriculums.

• Ask the Lord to raise up ‘Daniels’ – people who have the placement that’s needed to introduce change at a governmental level.

• Pray for God’s grace and power to make a way where there seems to be no way, so that future generations are able to learn, and therefore operate, in a whole different way, seeking and working for the true good of society.
