BORN IN FIRE

Recently I had a dream. In the dream the former leader of one of the bigger churches in New Zealand was on a journey in the river. The dream went on for quite some time and the leader kept making unscheduled stops along the way. The stops were a sidetrack and took the focus off the river and onto activity on the bank. I noted the name of the leader and, on investigation, found that his name meant ‘born in fire’, and the leader of the house. I found this very significant. As the dream progressed, and was about to end, his wife rose up and told him to stay in the river, not to lose focus on what was happening on the shore. The word of the bride to the Sons, “Don't lose focus.”

I believe the Lord was showing me that this represented the Pentecostal Church in New Zealand – always attending to lots of activity on the shore, and neglecting the flow of the river. ‘Born in fire’ represents the roots of the charismatic Pentecostal Church in New Zealand, mostly born out of the Smith Wigglesworth campaign in 1922, born in fire.

As I’ve prayed into this dream it's become clear to me that the Lord is wanting to clear away side issues and sidetracks that are causing the Body to continually stop on the shore, instead of abandoning itself to the flow of the river. It’s time to refocus and reaffirm our mission to flow with the river borne of fire, leading the house into great glory. 2024 is the year to refocus, in anticipation of the glory that is coming upon the church in this nation.
