A TIME OF PURIFYING

We are in a time where God is purifying His ecclesia – His called-out ones, His church, and this must happen if we are truly to represent Christ in this world.

Everything that can be shaken is being shaken; hidden hurts and wounds are being exposed so that they can be brought to the light and healed. Secret sins are becoming manifest to all as they bear the fruit of their unchecked growth. Old mindsets (worldly or religious ones), that we have not let God speak into and change, have become toxic strongholds of belief that hold us bound, and these are being clearly heard and seen in what people say, and how they act.

We are in a time when the seeds we allowed to be planted in our lives, whether good or bad, are coming to full fruit. We are not immune from the consequences of our behaviour. We will reap what we sow.

In His mercy and love the Lord is offering us an opportunity to do as David did in Psa 139:23,24 – to say, “God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See if there is any path of pain I am walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting way – the path that brings me back to you” (TPT).

Seek the Lord for His purifying and restoring power, and ask Him to reveal the hidden things of your heart, so the things hindering you can be detected, healed, or removed. These may be hurts and wounds, offenses, secret sins, addictions, etc.

Public exposure is not God’s plan, or His doing. It is the natural result of things not being dealt with at an early stage. God is not someone who takes delight in publicly exposing people’s sin, but if they don’t heed His many calls – if they don’t take the chances that He gives them to turn to Him and ask for His wisdom, strength, and power to overcome – then, in the end, He will allow them to face the natural consequences of their behaviour. His heart is always to see people come to Him, to provide a way of escape from wounds and sin, and to set them back on their feet, fully restored, having gained wisdom, understanding, and the power and insight to withstand, and continue to stand!

God wants to give you His power to overcome, and to make a God-supplied divine exchange. If you turn to Him and allow Him, He will take away your sin, shame, bondage, addiction, fear etc and in exchange, give you freedom, faith, trust, truthfulness, faithfulness, and more…

1 Cor 10:13 shows us that. “No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. Where we are tempted or have given in to temptation, God says turn to me, ask me for strategic insight and for a way of escape” (AMP).

In all we face, in every temptation, in everything that has entangled us, God has a way out for us if we will seek Him and cooperate with Him in it. God has promised that if you need wisdom, you can turn to Him and ask for it. That wisdom may come from Him directly speaking to you, or from the Bible, or from godly counsel. He may encourage you to seek medical help, where needed, or to see a professional counsellor etc. In His wisdom, God is not boxed in to only providing help in one way.

As you turn to the Lord and ask Him to help you, Jesus stands before you and offers a divine exchange – will you give up what truly does not serve you well, to receive that which will set you free and bring you into a rich full and satisfying life?
