PROPHETIC WORDS

A NEW ERA

This prophetic word was given at the NZ Council of Prophets meeting in Christchurch, February 2021.

The Lord is saying; ​“It is a new era!” ​This time that we have entered into has not been seen, nor experienced, by our generation before. We have not been this way before. There is no narrative for it, there is no navigation chart to draw on for guidance. I hear a definite ‘Tick tock’ as the clock of time is pushed to the midnight hour. Both hands are resting on 12.

Right now we wait in tension in the midnight hour. Not in the past and not in the future ...but in the place of transition of one ‘day’ to the next, as we watch astutely to see what the new ‘day’ will bring. This new day I speak of is the new era of time.

I am immediately reminded of another midnight hour, where in a prison Paul and Silas, despite their circumstances, chose to praise. We, too, must choose in this season to praise in this midnight hour, despite what we may see around us.

We have entered an era of urgency and intent. It is the season to put away childish ways. It is time to declutter and purge our lives of casual distractions that fritter away our precious time in this hour. The Lord is calling His army to arise, and it is now the season of war.

No soldier in active service gets entangled in the (ordinary business) affairs of civilian life; (he avoids them) so that he may please the one who enlisted him to serve. (2 Tim 2:4.)

Be about our Father’s business

It is time to readjust our priorities.​ What was permissible in the previous season may become a stumbling block in the next season. The Lord is purifying His bride in this hour.

The Lord is saying;​ “Watch over your own eye gate and ear gate!”

We must become intentional about what we allow to pass through. Like the instilling of new anti virus detection software on our computers, the Spirit of the Lord is instilling a heightened sensitivity to discern what is pure, leading to purity and what is defiled, leading to defilement.

I see a picture; ​Time is on the scales​. There is an urgency to become good stewards of the time we have been graced. The Lord is entreating us; “You must be about your Father’s business!”

When I was a child, I spoke about childish matters, for I saw things like a child and reasoned like a child. But the day came when I matured, and I set aside my childish ways. (1 Cor 13:11.)

It is time to mature.

The Bible recalls the moment in time when Jesus shifts into a place of intentional maturity. He was 12 years old when His parents unwittingly assumed that He was under their protection on the journey back from Jerusalem, but discovered that He was not with them. 12 years old. It is a transitional age between childhood and maturity. When they found Him, He was in the temple and His response to their rebuke was a clear statement of the shift in his focus.

“Why is it that you have been searching for me?” He replied; “did you not know that it is my duty to be engaged upon my fathers business?” (Luke 2:49.)

The days of comfortable Christianity are over! It is time that the church must rise as a beacon of hope for the lost. We can only do this as we accept responsibility. We must realise that our days of infancy have past, and now it is time to step into maturity.

I hear the phrase; ​“A life of comfort has been disrupted for the cause of the King.”

This means two things. Firstly, the Spirit of God is saying, “There is an enlisting into the Lord's army, it is time for war!”

As in the time of king David, there was a season for war and a season for rest. (2 Sam 11:1.)
There is a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecc 3:8.)

Secondly, I feel strongly in my spirit that the advancing of the gospel in this season will be opposed by many in power, and it will feel uncomfortable at times as we are forced to make a stand for the truth in our homes, our workplaces and our communities. But take courage, as right now the Lion of Judah is roaming throughout the land and roaring boldness into the spirit of His sons and daughters!

Right now there is an empowerment from Heaven for great boldness. Many will discover their righteous roar and supernatural courage.

“The righteous are bold as a lion.​” (Prov 28:1b.)

“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say every kind of evil about you because of me.” (Matt 5:11.)

It is time for us to say; “I am about my Father’s business!”

Awaken BEFORE the dawn of the new day

The Awakening is upon us! The great reset of 2020 is causing an awakening to occur in the people of God. There is an astuteness and an alertness in our spirit. We may not know what’s up, but we can discern that something has changed. Our senses are heightened. There is a caution as we watch the horizon for what we sense approaching.

The Lord woke me prophetically this morning before the dawning of the new day. It was in the twilight time, of which there are three – civil, nautical and astronomical. Each twilight ‘zone’ is lighter than the one before it, and is determined by the degree of the angle which the sun is beneath the horizon. I was woken up just before the final twilight phase, known as ‘civil twilight’. I believe prophetically that we are in that time spiritually right now! This is the time to awake! We are in a twilight zone. A transitional time between night and day. It is by the grace of God that He is giving us time to adjust! I believe as the author of time the Lord is even holding time back to give us extra grace to ready ourselves for this next era.

“…and do this understanding the occasion. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day has drawn near. So let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light.” (Rom 13:11-12.)

This is the time to fix our eyes upon the Lord. The Lord is calling to us, “Awake and Arise! Be alert and of sober mind!”

“Watchmen DO NOT Leave your post!” It is the time to partner with the Spirit of God like never before, and to fill the airways with decrees, actively loosing and binding in order to help ​shape​ the narrative of this coming time.

Come up here

I heard a trumpet sound. It announces the call to the mountain. This is no gentle invitation. ​It is the sound of war! ​The Lord is rallying His army in the high places. The place of fellowship and intimacy with Him. For now, more than ever, He needs us to rise above earthly places into the heavenly places in order to receive clarity of vision, strategy and encouragement for the coming season.

This is why our time is being fought for by the enemy. He wants to keep us distracted, busy, and entertained...meanwhile WHO will shape history! It is time for us to remove any distractions, because HOW we invest this time will greatly determine HOW we walk through the next season.

“Then as I looked I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” (Rev 4:1.)

This is NOT the time to disconnect!

During this previous year the enemy has also launched an attack on Christians to isolate and confuse. Many have been caught up with confounding doctrines and conspiracy, which has distracted them and brought a cloud of disillusionment over them. This is exactly what the enemy wants! He wants to isolate, distract and weaken people. This is so that their hunger for the lost is diminished, as they wrongly attack other brothers and sisters in the faith. It was never our job to take out other Christians.

“We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming.” (Heb 10:25.)

This is the year to connect! connect! connect! deeper with each other than we have ever been – weaved into each other’s lives as an authentic tapestry. Relish the freedom we have right now to gather together corporately. Do NOT take this freedom for granted.
This is the place where we are strengthened, encouraged, equipped and supported. It also keeps us in a place of accountability, so that we are not deceived.

The Great Divide is upon us

This is the season where we will see a great divide begin to occur in the body of Christ. The Christians who heed the call of God to “awake” will emerge as a pure standard of righteous ones; they will be marked by their love for their Bridegroom and their love for the lost. They will boldly speak with fiery passion, and will hold fast to the truth of the gospel, despite cultural pressure to compromise.

They are the Shadracks, Meshacks and Abednegos of the day, where though the fire may come, they know their God intimately and He will use them to reveal His power and glory.

Right now these fiery ones are rising. They have swords as tongues and their words will bring healing and freedom.

The Lord is saying;, “My people will either awake or awash!” Those who ignore the call to awake, will awash. This means that they will be swept up with the currents of popular culture. They will allow the yeast of the political and religious spirit to spread through them and contaminate their faith. They will mix the word and the world to create a doctrine that suits their lifestyle. They will distance themselves more and more vocally from streams of Christians who make a stand for righteousness. This will be the great divide. The Bible warns us of these people who have a form of godliness, but deny its power.

“For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold.” (2 Tim 4:3.)

This great divide will also be seen in people’s reaction to the gospel. The gospel is a book of love, but it is also a book of truth. The day is approaching where the great book will be seen by some as being dangerous.

Right now there is a Haman spirit on the loose, with the purpose to bring the Bible into disrepute, and to somehow restrict and, ultimately, forbid its use. As active prayer warriors in this awakening hour we can bind this spirit and loose the harvest angels.

This is the time for the evangelists to be heard in the public square once more – the public square of media. The pure message of the gospel will offend many people, but for others, whose hearts are humble and soft, it will be a message of freedom and deliverance.

“The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.” (1 Cor 1:18.)

As Christians raised in the western world it may be difficult for us to comprehend some of these things I have shared in this word. None of this should cause fear, for we have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Plus, fear is to do with punishment. I do not believe that this is punishment, but it is the shaking that must take place in order for the strengthening of the Kingdom of God to occur. For we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken!

It is time for our perspective to shift from a temporal earthly perspective – where we want to live a life of comfort and blessings and attend the odd prayer meeting and church on Sunday – to an eternal perspective, where we work tirelessly while still on earth, excited to encounter the divine appointments waiting in our day ahead, and eagerly look forward with expectancy to our reward in heaven.

“Arise! Shine! Your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has dawned. Darkness now covers the earth, and thick darkness covers the nations. But the Lord dawns, and His glory appears over you.” (Isa 60:1-2.)
