PROPHETIC WORDS
2024, THE YEAR OF MORE
by Catherine Hoekendijk
This prophetic word was given at the NZ Council of Prophets gathering and Behold Conference in Christchurch, March 2024.
Intro
Last year I brought the words ‘Shift, Sift and LIft’. Prophesying the time we had been in and God bringing a shift and a sifting to our hearts in order we might lift up Jesus more effectively.
I had felt there would be a shift in government and multiple arenas. It was a proclamation and now we move into the time of implementation.
1. 2024 the year of More.
More of Him! Moving from surviving to thriving.
Increase is coming to many areas. I see it in Churches, with growth and expansion. In ministries. New Campuses being planted. I see it in new businesses, starts ups and exisiting projects. I see it in families. God is bringing the beginnings of growth and a prospering we have not seen in years.
1 Chron 4:10, “And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.”
Isa 54:2-3, “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.”
Eph 3:20-21, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
2. Opening Doors.
After many years of containment, we are moving into a new season of planting and establishing new works, new business, new initiatives. What has been shut down and repressed, is now going to be released and many will be walking into new opportunities. I saw large doors opening up to new fields, and new ventures.
Many will be receiving promotions in their different areas. Many will finally move into some of the promise they have been in process for after a long time. For some it has been decades of preparation. There will suddenly be release into the vision. We will see new ventures emerge and things open up bigger and more advanced than imagined. There will be new inventions come into the public arena that have been on hold or restrained. Significant advances in technology and new cures in the medical and scientific community. Some who have been in a holding pattern for years waiting on the fulfilment of promise, will see it this year. Things that have been hindered or delayed in the past, will suddenly spring forth and joy will be released as projects that have been stalled, will finally make headway. For some, it will be a time of letting go of what has been to allow growth and forward movement.
Rev 3:8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”
3. Alignment
Eph 4:1-6 NKJV, “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
Matt 6:33 ESV, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
There is going to be a refining and focusing of assignments. Some will find that their old assignments no longer fit and they need to let go of them to fully embrace the new season. There will be some frustration in the transition period, but great joy as the ‘fat’ of mixed agenda’s is trimmed off and a new purity of heart and purpose is released as people truly start to operate in their lanes. A greater clarity is coming and non essentials will fall away to make room for all the energy, effort and resourcing to go into the ‘new essentials’. People will start to run in their lanes as the confusion of the past season of ‘lane jumping’ finishes and there is a clear run ahead. As people discover their lanes, working together no longer becomes optional or desirable, but totally necessary. I believe there is a call for the Church to be in alignment, each working in their God given assignment to bring Kotahitanga – Oneness. Mahi nātahi reretau. Working together harmoniously.
At a national level, there will be a peeling away of any surplus and a cutting back to the basics. It will be painful, but ultimately have the same impact longer term as pruning. There is a consolidation of resources happening to strengthen what is necessary and a letting go of the unnecessary. Where there have been 10 options of choice in the past, there will be a reduction to less options. Many will feel unrest and dissatisfaction as what has been, will no longer exist, until a new emergence of a more distilled form arises. New fruit will start to emerge from the pruning and it will be slow growing initially, but then very sweet. There will be new alignments and agreements amongst nations signed. These will strengthen our two countries in some areas and weaken them in others.
4. A call to intimacy
God speaks to the 7 Churches in Revelation. He commends them for their works, then outlines what He would like to see more of. To the Church of Ephesus He calls them out for losing their first love. They have continued to be faithful, yet the passion, zeal and love they started out with, has cooled.
Rev 2:3-4, “You have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen.”
The greatest call to the church in this hour is to intimacy. When dark times come, we are able to stand. Being faithful unto death.
Rev 2:10, “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Rev 2:25, “But hold fast what you have till I come.”
Rev 3:2, “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.”
There is such a strong call back to the ‘Secret Place’, to prioritise the Presence of God. Seeking His Heart, not His Hand. His Face, not His blessing. We are becoming what we are beholding and He is calling us to live in the frequency of heaven. To be a David generation who is known as a people after His own heart. To be known as a People of Presence.
Prioritising the Presence. We make room for Him. Whatever space we give to God, He will use it. We’re going to go with the flow of the river. Our first ministry is unto the Lord. We cease from striving and enter into His rest. Rest is not the absence of activity, but the posture of relinquishing control and operating out of His peace. Living our life out of a place of rest not restlessness.
When God finds someone who will pursue Him at any cost, He will not withhold anything from him, only what would be harmful to him.
Matt 11:12 (NIV), “The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matt 11:12 (TPT), “The realm of heaven’s kingdom is bursting forth, and passionate people have taken hold of its power.”
= Passionate People! Violent people! The term “spiritual violence” captures the intensity with which the last days’ generation will pursue God. They will seek God with their entire being, denying themselves and throwing off all entangling sins in order to run the race with passion, purity and perseverance!
This is the hour to seek God with violent abandonment! It’s time to awaken from our slumber and chase down the Kingdom of God like never before…
Kathryn Kuhlman said these words, “Go back to the secret place, the place where men and women are made for a generation, and generate the kind of energy that defies being ignored…Pray yourself until you intercourse with the anointing, pray until an investment of the Spirit comes upon you, pray for the grace to change nations, to shift systems and every platform will seek you.”
5. Revolution and Global impact
God has brought my attention to one of Christchurch’s sister Cities – Wuhan, in Hubei Province in China. It is the place where the Chinese Revolution began in 1911 and it is where the Covid 19 virus reportedly escaped from a lab in 2019.
God is always working in the opposite spirit to what the world produces and releases.
There are 2 things…
God is about to bring about a Godly revolution that will change things forever. *A revolution is a very sharp change made to something. The word comes from Latin and is related to the word revolutio (which means turnaround). This is different to a Reformation. (*Reformation is making changes to something with the intention of setting it back on the right path.) Christchurch will see the beginnings of this new revolution which will not be contained here. The Revolution in Wuhan started by mistake when someone fell over and knocked fireworks into fire that alerted a German butcher who then reported the revolutionaries. They had been preparing, but had not yet taken steps until they were forced to. It was a violent taking by force a new government. A Jesus Revolution!
Following the revolution, I believe He is going to release a spiritual global move. The antithesis to the negative connotations of a pandemic. But a world wide, global revolution of His glory. Like in the days of the disciples, those who have sought the Secret Place and walk in the frequency of heaven will walk past people and they will be infected with the glory of God. They will be changed as a result of being in the presence of those who have been in the ‘Presence’. Prayer meetings will start to multiply and increase. Hunger for God and His presence, His word and His ways will increase. Apathy will be replaced with a new zeal.
Action needed:
Intentional gatherings to pray and worship. Churches, City and Nationwide prayer and worship gatherings will multiply.
