PROPHETIC WORDS

2022-2023 LETTING GO AND GOD’S EXTRAVAGANT RESPONSE

There is a word from God I have been living out all year, and many of you along with me.  This has made it a painful year.  The word is Genesis 22 for 2022 – Abraham offering Isaac.

It is hard enough to let go of the things that are bad for us, or which distract us.  But Isaac was not this.  He was Abraham’s God-given blessing.  He was also the only way forward into Abraham’s destiny – to be called the ‘father of many nations’.

It has been, and still is, a season for us to surrender to God even those very things that we thought were a doorway into our future, our calling.  This has left us feeling high and dry, empty-handed.

But, like Abraham, we have done this in dependence on the character of our God – the God who gives life to the dead.  See Heb 11: 17-19, “By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.”

Surrender has been very painful, but Holy Spirit is helping us to do this in faith, looking to God’s character for resurrection, and so not to give way to despair.

What is God’s loving purpose in all of this?  Once something is surrendered to God, it is consecrated to God – set apart for Him alone.  Our own sticky fingerprints get completely wiped off.  Our calling is being purified from any trace of pride or self-effort.  God always first purifies the seed before He multiplies it.  Yes, extravagant multiplication is ahead for you!

“Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son— blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” “ Gen 22: 15-18 (NKJV)

In these words, can you hear the Father’s heart bursting with love and the desire to bless extravagantly?  This is His heart for you for 2023 and beyond.  You have not withheld from Him, and He will withhold nothing back from you in His Son.  But, as always, His outpouring of blessing will be on a whole other level from ours!

If you are finishing 2022 empty-handed, my friend, you are positioned well for God’s next mighty move.

PRAYER POINTS

Prayer is not just us coming to God with a list of requests. As part of our relationship with Him, it is us having a conversation with the Lord, which involves talking and listening on both sides. The following prayer points are some things you can talk to Him about in regards to this prophetic word.

• Father God, what am I subconsciously holding on to? I let go and entrust it fully to You. It was Yours in the first place.

• Purify the seed You have planted in me, Lord, ready for its multiplication.

• Purify the seed You have planted in our nation, Lord, ready for its multiplication.
