2019 – A YEAR OF ‘BEING ESTABLISHED’.

‘Advance and establish!’
God is wanting us to advance: firstly in HIM, in our lives, in the lives of our communities and throughout the world. This looks like movement. This looks like progress. This looks like getting ‘unstuck’ from the things that have held us back and prevented us from moving forward in different areas. This looks like cutting loose from old habits and ways and breaking into the new. This looks like relinquishing the old, or what has been before, and being established in new things.
2018 was a year of consolidation, and as we look ahead to the new year I feel the other main theme the Lord is speaking about is ‘being established’.
Established: To build, to install, to bring into being on a firm stable basis. To bring about permanently. Belong, be settled.
God wants us to be ESTABLISHED in Him!
To be Deeply Rooted in Him
Implanted & Ingrained in Jesus
In-eradicable!
Unable to be Destroyed or Removed!
The following scriptures are significant in this period.
Ephesians 3:14-21 NIV
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
NKJV puts it this way, Ephesians 3:17b
“that you, being rooted and grounded in love,”
Colossians 2:7
"Your spiritual roots go deeply into his life as you are continually infused with strength, encouraged in every way. For you are established in the faith you have absorbed and enriched by your devotion to him!"
That our roots may go down deep in the soil of His love.
Psalm 1:1-3 TPT
"What delight comes to those
Who follow God’s ways!
They won’t walk in step with the wicked,
Nor share the sinner’s way,
Or be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.
Their pleasure and passion is remaining true
To the Word of “I Am,”
Meditating each and every moment

"Call to me and I will answer you. I'll tell you marvellous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own."
God is establishing His people. We are going to be established in prayer, in His word, in authority, in community, in healthy habits, in character, and in our call.
Runanga
This year God is establishing Rūnanga. In Māori culture, a rūnanga (or runaka) is a council, tribal council, assembly, board or boardroom.[1] The term can also be a verb meaning "to discuss in an assembly”.
Rūnanga will be established around the country to discuss what is ahead, as well as what are the things preventing us from advancing. They will aid in building community and establishing connection and authority. These ‘councils’ or ‘hubs’ will provide leadership and vision for the people, and will come in many different shapes and sizes and locations around the country, and will represent many different streams.
For the church in New Zealand, this will be important, as we are faced with many issues that will create uncertainty and confusion.
Rūnanga will be important also for the community, as Government departments start to discuss 'advancing strategies’ in multiple areas.
A season of birthing and of re-establishing
It’s a season of birthing of new things, but there will also be a ‘re-establishing’ of some ministries and organisations that have been of significance in the past, but have possibly lost some momentum or focus. With this there is a strong sense of a ‘passing of the baton’ to the next generations. The next wave will come and impact in a fresh way.
