PROPHETIC WORDS

YOUR ARISING IS GOD’S ARISING

Your arising is God’s arising – His enemies will be scattered (Psa 68:1).

I am praying for those who have been hassled and niggled by the invisible warfare against them over a long period time. There’s a sense of exhaustion and numbness that has settled over some because of the extended nature of this battle. I can feel the Lord’s compassion and love for you if that’s been your experience. But I also see Him coming to you, as He did to Gideon in the wine press, to tell you who you really are, and to impart fresh perspective, faith and boldness to arise and partner with heaven to defeat the enemy. You are not the least of the least. Although the devourer may have swept across your territory more than once, as the Midianites did in the time of Gideon, God has a comeback and recompense for you that He’s urging you to take hold of as you arise.

As I prayed for people last night, I was reminded of an image from the classic story, Gulliver’s Travels. In the story Lemuel Gulliver, an English surgeon, loses his business and sets out on a sea voyage. He is shipwrecked and wakes in a foreign land surrounded by a multitude of tiny people who have supposedly pinned him down to the ground with many, many tiny ropes and stakes. They are very protective of their land and are not averse to firing their arrows at him to subdue him.

The sense I had was that many believers have washed up on the foreign shore of “the little people” – the land of natural thinking, earthly perspectives, fear, discouragement and unbelief. The enemy has tied them down with thousands of accusations that are like the tiny ropes over Gulliver. The purpose of the accusations is to belittle, shame and discourage people. To turn their thoughts inward and have them assess themselves through the lens of the natural mind, earthly judgements and expectations. Most significantly, the clouded lens of demonic lies has resulted in many being disconnected from their sense of identity, as beloved sons and daughters of God.

But here’s the truth – you’re a giant in God, you are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds; when you arise, God arises, and His enemies are scattered (Psa 68:1). Your weapons are not natural, they are powerful, spiritual weapons that defeat the enemy (2 Cor 10:4). Arise! As you do you will break the tiny bonds that have seemed strong. Shift your posture to praise and thanksgiving and the atmosphere will change as the demonic accusations break. The enemy is like the many tiny Lilliputians surrounding Gilliver – it might seem like an overwhelming multitude, but you are the giant in this story. Get up by activating the spiritual weapons God has given you. Praise continually, pray in the Spirit, speak in tongues, proclaim God’s promises out loud, align your thoughts with what the Bible says about who you are in Christ, and act as though it is all true. Open your mouth, get loud, dance and move like David did. The breakthrough belongs to you, as it did to Gideon and to David, and as you arise and advance in faith you’ll also be a catalyst for the breakthrough of others.
