PROPHETIC WORDS

PROPHETIC WORD FOR THE 2020’s

by David Peters

October 2021

It’s easy to be wise in hindsight. Back in December 2019 (the days before Covid) the Lord gave me this prophetic word for the 2020's. I never released it at the time, as I was unsure about it. I found it in my journal recently and now it looks relevant.

I believe that online ministry or technology, as mentioned in the prophetic word, is a partial fulfilment but there is more to come. I hope that you will be encouraged:

"Turbulence. There will be much turbulence in the nations in this coming decade of the 2020’s. Fasten your seatbelts. Tie yourselves to the belt of truth. Fasten it strongly. Those who stand in truth will do exploits for the Kingdom.

Nations will rise and fall this decade, as will political and societal leaders. For a while it will seem that evil has the upper hand, but this will be turned by the prayers of God's people. Do not acquiesce in the face of darkness, but stand up strong.

Though there will be difficult times, there will also be the most glorious opportunities for the Kingdom of God ever in history. More people are going to hear the gospel than ever before. New technologies will speed the spread of the gospel and at the end of the 2020’s the landscape of Christianity will look very different than today. The technologies will change so rapidly as to make what is current obsolete.

Rather than be afraid of the change, the church will embrace these new things as servants of the gospel and use them. The days will be unlike anything seen before. A whisper spoken on one side of the world will be heard as a shout on the other. These new technologies will magnify the message of God.

Desperation will fill the nations. But God will give his people wisdom and people will come to believers seeking it out, as the world did in Solomon’s day. Get ready."

PRAYER POINTS

  • Please pray into the effects that this current time is having on people – Christian and non-Christian. Mental health issues are on the rise, as are domestic violence, relational issues, churches being divided with brother and sisters fighting against each other, and more. Pray as the Holy Spirit leads you to pray.

  • Pray for our government, that their eyes would be opened to see clearly the devastating effects of the decisions they are making, that they would turn to Christ and repent.

  • Pray for a strengthening of the church and a release of new technologies that will aid in the good news of what Christ has done being able to be shared.
