PROPHETIC WORDS

A CREAKY CAR AND A POISED ATHLETE

by Libby Huirua

November 2022

Over the last few weeks I have had some prophetic impressions/pictures and there are a couple that I haven’t been able to shake, so I feel they are for now. I sense that one of them frames what the transition between the last season and the new season has been like for many individuals, and The Church. The other, I sense, is a picture of where we are NOW! They are both exciting pictures because they speak of preparation for forward motion.

The first picture was a car, and it was creaking and groaning. It was a non-mechanical sound – a sound coming from the chassis or body – not a sound coming from the engine. And I got the impression that the weight put on the body was causing the groaning and creaking. The engine was doing its best to operate, but it was groaning under the weight of the chassis, and cracks were starting to show.

Then I saw the car booked in at the mechanics for a servicing, or overhaul. I saw an oil change happening; the oil filter was replaced, spark plugs were replaced. I saw the windscreen wiper blades being changed, I saw parts being oiled, brake pads being changed, and wheels ALIGNED. I saw the chassis being strengthened.

Then finally I saw not just new tyres being put on the aligned wheels, but they were all-weather, all-purpose tyres! And I sensed God saying, “The terrain is changing! And where we’re going, I’m fully equipping you for!”

The second picture was of an athlete getting ready on a track. This athlete was conditioned, toned, fit and prepared. They had done the work ready to run this race. I saw them shake off their leg muscles, shake off their arms, stretch their back, stand up tall, and then crouch down and position themself in the starting blocks. Every muscle was primed and ready, sleek and conditioned. And they waited, eyes on The Starter, ears tuned for the sound of the starting gun, waiting for it to go off. There was no risk of a false start because eyes and ears were tuned and trained on The Starter. And I felt God say, “I’m about to pull the trigger!”

These are exciting days ahead – we are heading into new territory, it’s new terrain, and we are being equipped, both individually and as the Church, to navigate it well and whole, tuned up and conditioned for what’s ahead. When God equips us we lack nothing! When our eyes and ears are on Him, we run!!

“I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion” Phil‬ ‭3:13-16‬ ‭TPT.‬‬

PRAYER POINTS

Prayer is not just us coming to God with a list of requests. As part of our relationship with Him, it is us having a conversation with the Lord, which involves talking and listening on both sides. The following prayer points are some things you can talk to Him about in regards to this prophetic word.

  • Ask the Lord to reveal to you personally, and also to the church, what areas need reconditioning, so we can carry the weight He wants us to carry going forward. What things need to be overhauled, set aside, or added?

  • God is fitting us out, getting us ready for new things. Ask Him to reveal what new things He has for you personally, so you can cooperate and prepare yourself for them.

  • Ask Him to reveal what new things He has for the church you attend, and for the church locally and globally, so you can cooperate and prepare yourself for them.

  • Ask Him to reveal any hindrances within us that would stop Him being able to do what He desires to do, personally and corporately.
